Since joining the Senate last year, Vance has become one of Trump’s most loyal supporters in Congress and embraced the former president’s agenda on everything from foreign policy to election denialism. In one illuminating interview with CNN in May, Vance suggested pro-Palestinian protesters on college campuses should face criminal charges.

“So you agree that people who break in and vandalize a building should be prosecuted?” asked the CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins.

“Exactly,” Vance said.

Collins replied, “I’m just checking because you did help raise money for people who did so on January 6.”

In fact, it might make an interesting feature story to explore how the Republican reaction to Jan 6 may have helped create a permission state for subsequent violent protests.

The media portrays everything as left vs. right but maybe the real compare and contrast is authoritarianism vs. liberalism. "Liberals" are people who tolerate and even celebrate different points of view. I'm seeing a strong authoritarian approach in many supposedly "progressive" causes lately.

“I am not a couchhumper.”

Let them worry about how the press will cover it.

Payback’s a love seat.

Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and all his descendants, the Bush-Cheney crime family, Elon Musk, Donald Trump, they've all used juvenile unfair made-up attacks to win elections. It goes back at least as far as making shit up about Al Gore, swiftboating John Kerry (and other wounded veterans), pretending that Hillary was deathly ill, etc.

It took 25+ years but finally, some anonymous guy on the internet created a totally unfair, false meme against the Republican VP candidate. It's working beautifully and I'm here for every minute of it. More, please.

…I’m not going to get too upset about it.

If most American voters were mature, rational, and free from racism and hate, Harris, Biden, or even the most mediocre Democrat you could find would be polling at least 20 points over Trump.

We’ve got to work with the voters we have.
