If you need something to watch at 8PM EST tonight instead of the Kennedy Center Honors

Last edited Wed Dec 24, 2025, 04:03 PM - Edit history (1)

Here's a list of movies that Rob Reiner either wrote, directed, produced, or appeared in:

This Is Spinal Tap
Stand by Me
The Princess Bride
When Harry Met Sally
Misery
A Few Good Men
North
The American President
Ghosts of Mississippi
The Story of Us
Alex & Emma
Rumor Has It
The Bucket List
Flipped
The Magic of Belle Isle
And So It Goes
Being Charlie
LBJ
Shock and Awe
Albert Brooks: Defending My Life
God & Country
Spinal Tap II: The End Continues

And if you're in need of an opening short subject, here's the 60 Minutes segment that Canada "accidentally" broadcast.

I really liked “A Few Good Men”, also. Great performances by Cruise, Moore, Bacon, Nicholson, Kevin Pollak, Kiefer Sutherland and J.T. Walsh. And a pre-ER appearance by Noah Wyle as Corporal Barnes in one of his earliest roles.

I was truly impressed by Wolfgang Bodison’s portrayal of Harold Dawson- he had no previous acting experience and read for the part only after Rob Reiner suggested he give it a try. Reiner was having difficulty finding the right person to portray Dawson and Bodison was working as Reiner’s assistant at the time. Bodison’s stellar performance as LCpl Dawson, a recruiting-poster Marine showed once again how much ability and acumen Reiner possessed when he was working on the other side of the camera.

That was such a creepy movie and an Academy Award winning performance from Kathy Bates.

Rob Reiner made this movie with and about his son Nick and the drug problems that have plagued Nick since his early teens. I would think that any fan of Rob Reiner's would be unlikely to enjoy watching that film, knowing the final outcome.

of days ago and loved it.

I watch Misery at least once a year because it's just such a great movie. In fact, I watched it just a couple of months ago.

I'll look to see which streaming services have what. I haven't seen The Princess Bride in a very long time. I think I'll watch it tonight.

Thanks for your post....

I'm guessing those guys smoked a lot of weed while they made that movie. But it's only a guess, what do I know?
It is hilarious in any case. Probably Spinal Tap 2 was made the same way. I'm shocked that they all look so much older now. But I look older too, so there's that.

Rob Reiner shows his comic genius in just about all of these movies. What I want to do is download the original episodes of "All In the Family" that I haven't seen for probably 45 or 50 years, and enjoy them all again. He's in every one of them, and they were all GREAT! It will be hard to watch them without crying, but that's what happens when we lose someone we love.

RIP Rob Reiner
