Well, today is the day we spent a month getting ready for.

Here it is. It's time to light the fuse on this Christmas Carol and hope it doesn't blow up on the launch pad.

Many of us will be seeing the family members today and tomorrow we avoid the rest of the year, so here are some survival tips:

Think of an excuse now for that one person you forgot to buy for. Keep it short and generic.

Complement your hostess. Even if she's married to Guy Fieri, she gets credit for what's on the table.

If there's alcohol don't be the drunkest person there. Everyone else will remember what you did. Always BYOB.

Your cousin Fred was an idiot long before there was a Fox News. You can't fix him no matter how hard you try.

Everybody have a great Christmas. You can rest Friday in your brand new pajamas and slippers. I'll meet you back here.

except for my new cat roommates, Chet and Dave. It will be a nice, relaxing, stress-free Christmas. I might have some wine.

Probably 50 people total, 1 MAGA out of the whole bunch, and I'll just smile, wish her a Merry Christmas and move on.

last time I was the drunkest person there and made an ass of myself. Now I have to try to live that down.

On the bright side you have a license to do it again.
Christmas traditions are a living list. Things get added all the time.
Have a good Xmas. I'm glad you have loved ones to share it with.

Chinese food and good friends for us.
This year I was blessed with being reconnected to old friends.
It was delicious for my soul and for my belly.
