Elon Musk has just made creating AI slop on X much easier. I hope he has the worst Christmas ever.
There's a new "Edit image" option that lets anyone on X edit any image posted by anyone else on X, even if it's years old, in seconds, and then post it in a reply to the post the image was ripped off from. Or download it.
Just click for options, choose "Edit image" and type in a quick prompt. No need to download the targeted image, use an image generator and then upload the AI slop yourself. (That might take entire minutes. Too much of the friction/effort AI users want to avoid.)
If an X user wants to rip off and mock real artists who don't like AI art (and no one should like AI art), it's a perfect tool.
If an X user is unhappy about photos of Trump with Epstein being posted by liberals, this tool should work for instantly making Democratic politicians and other liberals appear to have been Epstein pals.
Maybe AI users on X were getting a bit tired of creating AI slop and running out of inspiration after thousands of slop images? Now any image anyone else posted on X becomes an AI slop springboard.
More fun for the terminally untalented. And more AI slop to bury everything real.
