Democrats are 'alarmed' by one Tom Homan line in his big speech: journalist

By Matthew Chapman
Published January 29, 2026 10:10 AM ET

When President Donald Trump's border adviser Tom Homan spoke to the press about his plans for assuming control of the deteriorating situation in Minneapolis, he struck a balance between suggesting that a "draw down" is possible if local officials cooperate with him, and remaining adamant that the administration will not "surrender" to anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement protesters.

One particular moment of the news conference, however, has Democrats particularly on edge, MS NOW's Jonathan Lemire said on Thursday's edition of "Morning Joe."

"One last note about that Tom Homan news conference," he said. "A few Democrats have messaged me. One thing they found alarming was when he was asked by pretty partisan journalist, it would appear about the protesters, whether they've been organizing on WhatsApp or Signal and the like to interfere or observe ICE operations. And Homan said, yeah, we're monitoring that, and saying, quote, 'justice is coming.'"

So Holman are you and your gang going into this phase of operation......you really sound like a third world hack, still like to know how you spent the $50,000 that was handed to you by the FBI...................ever read this book.........

Are they gonna go to Staples and find out how bought poster board and Sharpies?

The local grass roots organizers handing out whistles?

The grass roots organizations providing printed and printable signs?

The PTA parents driving teachers to school?

The neighbors bringing food to peoples' homes?

Oh, and by the way - THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT AGITATORS!

These are people exercising their First Amendment rights and protecting their neighbors.

Which somehow we let go by the wayside and nearly completely die. If we haven't actually been murdering it ourselves.

I'm sick of the me-me-me culture of constant skin care and influencers focusing only on themselves and striving to becoming billionaires.

Meanwhile, the billionaires want more and more and are killing our communities with the ammunition of their greed.

Bring back the hootenannys, I say!!!

Even now, knowing how invasive it is, would we give up our smartphones?

Here's a good starting place to improve your phone security. There's a section on burner phones, too, that people should read if their intent is to have a phone that isn't tracked to them, personally. How to buy it, how to activate it.

I'm NOT "alarmed", are you?

Fuck the Nazi fucksticks attempts to intimidate.

Being "alarmed" would mean you would be "surprised", or "shocked" by ANYTHING this Nazi regime would do.

If you were "alarmed" by this, you're about 10 years late to the fight. Get off the sidelines.

If you didn't see this coming, you weren't paying attention.

So...DON'T be "alarmed".

"PISSED, ENGAGED, VIGILANT, DETERMINED, PREPARED, INFORMED and READY"?

Yeah, I am all of those, but "alarmed"?

Israeli Spyware. Tracks any phone number.
Used by the Saudis among others to arrest dissidents.

The phones we carry can be used to betray us. What will we do when it becomes obvious that it is indeed happening? Alternative means of communication need to be considered when the time comes.
FBI has capabilities to track every fax machine and copiers in the nation. Our dependence on tech is a weakness that should be addressed.

Kash Patel just announced that the FBI is opening an investigation into the use of Signal and other secure communication applications by anti ice protestors. He stated that the apps are being used by the protesters to find and single out ICE agents for attack. I really want to be there when they ask for a search warrant with non existent evidence. My bet is that they will do it illegally because who is going to stop them.

These unnamed Democrats have not been paying attention.

Wake up! Open your eyes! Do not listen to what the Maga Republicans say! Watch what they do!

This administration is in the process of trying to end democracy by ending free elections in the United States via ICE. They have to do this because it they lose power, many of them will go to prison.

They must be stopped and we cannot compromise on this issue, or we lose our country.

Homan said this because he is likely aware of some surveillance operations to target protesters who communicate with one another. Then they may more easily fabricate "conspiracy to obstruct" charges against them. We may soon see mass round-ups of regular citizens organizing gatherings to exercise their 1st amendment right to protest. And even though such "Trumped-up" charges against an "organized network of domestic terrorists" won't stick, there will be a media blitz of show trials designed to chill dissent.
