Another perspective,... the FBI Fulton County raid,...

..... was less about the 2020 election that trDump claims was stolen. But more about how the Black vote in Fulton County can be suppressed in 2026 and 2028. Mango Mussolini does not want to be impeached again if the Dems win the House or the Senate. Nor does he want to spend his twilight years behind bars. DjT winning the 2026 midterm elections, keeping the House and Senate in ReThug control is paramount for him and his minions.

For god’s sake, let’s get to the REAL agenda behind Wednesday's FBI raid on the Fulton County elections office. IT’S NOT ABOUT THE 2020 ELECTION. The warrant says the FBI wants the envelopes from the 2020 election to hunt for crimes. But that’s just the legal excuse for the storm trooping.
(snip)

This is all about 2026 and 2028. Look at a map. Fulton County is the heart of “Blacklanta.” And Atlanta is the electoral heart of Georgia. And Georgia is the swingiest of swing states. If Republicans don’t cut down the Black vote in Atlanta, they lose the crucial seat now held by Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff. And in 2028, the GOP, if they don’t suppress the vote in Fulton, they lose the White House. Fulton was the fulcrum of Trump’s loss in 2020 and could spell doomsday for Republicans in 2028.
(snip)

So, how exactly do you stop Fulton County Black folk (and the LGBTQ community and the hipsters who left rural Georgia because they hate their parents) from voting? The answer is: DROP-BOX.
(snip)

First, let me explain to my white readers a fact about African Americans: In the majority, they vote early, having suffered the cruel absurdity of six-hour lines on Election Day. (And remember, it’s a FELONY crime in Georgia to give an elderly voter standing in line, thirsty, a bottle of water). From long, sad experience, Black voters have learned to use early voting opportunities, especially mail-in ballots that can be placed in a drop-box.

For example, in the election run-off following the 2020 vote, which put two Georgia Democrats into the US Senate, over a million mail-in ballots (1,084,021) were cast, mainly in drop-boxes, mostly in Fulton/Atlanta.

1. Fulton county will not determine control of the house this year

As despicable as the raid was, if the intent was to suppress the black vote, the Georgia legislature has already seen to that.

Democrats will win control of the house regardless of what happens in Georgia. It’s possible it could impact Ossoff’s senate race, but that remains to be seen.

Folks should remember that Trump has been rage posting about the “rigged” 2020 election nonstop for the past two days, and has been increasingly obsessed with “proving” it happened.

I think it is entirely possible that the raid was a response to Trump’s demented demands to prove he didn’t lose Georgia in 2020.

3. I agree that Republicans have been suppressing the vote.

I don't think we should stand by and let them get better at it.

If it doesn't prevent a Democratic House majority, but it costs a House seat or two, that's still really bad. If it costs Senator Ossoff's seat, it's tragic. Either way, we should do everything we can to oppose it.

2. MaddowBlog-As the FBI searches Fulton County, Trump's 2020 election fixation has escalated beyond whining

When it comes to his 2020 defeat, what the president is doing is now more alarming than what he’s saying.

Trump’s whining about his 2020 defeat is easy to ignore. His actions are not:
- FBI's ridiculous search in Fulton County
- hiring Kurt Olsen to focus exclusively on conspiracy theory
- directing DOJ to find imaginary evidence of fraud
- demanding baseless prosecutions

https://www.ms.now/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/as-the-fbi-searches-fulton-co-trumps-2020-election-fixation-has-escalated-beyond-whining

In October, for example, Kurt Olsen, a lawyer who has touted election conspiracy theories, joined the administration as a special government employee with one focus: investigating the 2020 election. A month later, The Washington Post reported that the president was “dialing up pressure on the Justice Department to freshly scrutinize ballots from the 2020 election,” adding that “in recent private meetings, public comments and social media posts, Trump has renewed demands that members of his administration find fraud in the five-year-old defeat that he never accepted.”

That’s the context for FBI agents’ execution of a search warrant Wednesday at the Fulton County elections office near Atlanta. MS NOW reported:

The warrant sought a number of records related to 2020 elections,’ Fulton County spokeswoman Jessica Corbitt said Wednesday afternoon.

According to a copy of the warrant obtained and verified by MS NOW, the federal government is seeking evidence of voter fraud, as well as violations of a misdemeanor federal statute requiring elections officials to retain records related to presidential elections for 22 months.

According to Fulton County Commissioner Dana Barrett and another Fulton County source, who requested anonymity out of fear of retribution, the FBI took “pallets of ballots.” A New York Times report noted that the move “harnesses the investigative power of the Justice Department and the F.B.I. behind baseless claims by Mr. Trump and his supporters that the 2020 election was stolen from him.”.....

If the White House wants federal law enforcement officials to waste their time rereviewing what we already know, that’s a shame for the officials who could be doing real work on behalf of the public, but in the grand scheme of things, it might seem trivial.

But it’s not quite that simple. For one thing, the president who controls the Justice Department is intent on prosecuting unnamed foes as part of his hysterical crusade, and the FBI’s latest efforts in Fulton County are another step down the same radical path. And as Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff of California explained well, this is also part of a larger effort by federal officials to interfere in local elections ahead of this year’s midterms.

4. Jon Ossoff is interviewed by Jen Psaki about the FBI raid of the Fulton County Election storage warehouse,..

.... Where the 2020 ballots were retained.

Ossoff is dismayed that DJT continues to beat the drum that the election was stolen. And that trDUMP may use the subpoened election ballots to attempt to game the 2026 and 2028 coming elections.

https://youtube.com/shorts/c8aiVjvS7aQ?si=kRhqnG9uAUG-GP2O

^^^^^^^^^^^

There is concern floating around that DJT might declare the Fulton County Dems (and other Dem election supervisors nationally) too fraudulent or too incompetent to handle important elections.

Consequently because of this gross incompetence DJT's military troops -under Hegseth, and/or ICE goon squads -under Neom, and/or the FBI - under Ka$h Patel should now supervise elections to restore confidence in election results,... as if.

Then having Democratic Party election supervisors and Democratic Secretaries of State step aside so Team trDump can take over the process of counting and tabulation of our votes - so honesty can be restored.
