As the Trump administration continues to face backlash over its immigration enforcement operations in the wake of the killing of Alex Pretti, one Senate Republican revealed late Thursday hes been urging President Trump to dump Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and advisor Stephen Miller, or risk a wave against Republicans in the midterms.
Ive continued to tell the president youve got to get the amateurs out of the Oval Office for his own sake, for his legacy, but for the sake of Republicans, said Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) on The Conversation," Politicos weekly podcast.
These people are adding up to what will most likely be a wave against Republicans in next years election because theyre so lousy on execution. Now there are many people in the administration I have the utmost confidence in. These two people happen not to be on that list.
Both Noem and Miller - the face and the architect behind the Trump administrations mass deportation policy, respectively have been under renewed scrutiny since Prettis killing, which itself came amid the increasingly chaotic immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

(22,133 posts)...before Adobe went to a subscription-based "Creative Cloud" model, people like me who used Photoshop would trot on over to Fry's Electronics and drop down an average of $200 per year for the tangible "upgrade" product on CD.
MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, it was largely an eye candy upgrade, things moved around on the user interface, or an upgrade to the high-end professional tools most people would not use unless they were...well, "industry professionals."
So the software upgrade analogy is an apt one.

(69,055 posts)He's one of my two lousy senators (R, naturally).
Tillis is a hardcore right winger but he's just barely smart enough to recognize that this puts him on a team of losers and morons. So he constantly wrings his hands and suggests that little tiny tweaks will fix everything.
He voted to confirm RFK, Jr. and continues to praise him. As a senator in a state with several leading academic health systems. A total fail.
Tillis plans to make a lot of money as a lobbyist and wants to be able to say he was "reasonable."
I hate him. No integrity.
