Guy wearing a MAGA hat walked up to me standing by the meat counter and asked about my Sturgis hat
I was wearing. "No never been to Sturgis, found this at a garage sale unused for a dollar" Talked about our
current and past motorcycles for 5 or 10 minutes, very friendly guy. Made sure he saw my anti-rump T-shirt I was wearing.
Then he changed the subject "Can you believe how the price of meat has gone up this past year?" Came back
with "Well we can thank rump's tariffs for that." And he wholeheartedly agreed with me.
Talked politics for 5 or 10 minutes when I finally said "I'm under the impression you're more of a Democrat than
a Republican, why the MAGA hat? "Oh I'm from Russell, Bob Dole Country, you don't dare let anyone know you
vote Democrat over there, hat allows me to fit in."
When talking politics he mentioned it was my T-shirt that made him approach me. One I was wearing....

(23,727 posts)now I'm more like gab13, never leave the house without one of my many anti-rump T-shirts.
My red town is getting tired of his shenanigans, we're turning slowly purple.

(32,360 posts)I'm 78 YO and I don't give a shit. I call Krasnov a pedophile and his party the Epstein party.
I never debate them, just throw out zingers.
I saw someone last week ahead of me in line at the deli with a mask on, I asked him if he was ICE. Did I mention I don't give a shit?
Turns out the guy had bad bone cancer and the treatment knocked out his immune system. We had a laugh about the ICE comment and then I let him speak about how that was so wrong what they were doing.
Where I live it's a 5 in 6 chance he is Magat but I liked what he said, we became friends in that short time.

(23,727 posts)That place in AR you mention is nowhere near as fighting red mad as Bob Dole's home town of Russell KS.
Their local museum's largest exhibit is devoted to the Senator Bob Dole, all the main streets have signs
with his name on them. From what I learned talking to him he's just as aggressive as you or myself attempting
to talk people into voting blue, only difference is we must be more tactful as we don't get threatened.
