(93,910 posts)"This is not our war, we have not started it," he added.
The conflict has nothing to do with NATO and Germany has no plans to be drawn into it, German government spokesperson Stefan Kornelius said.
"Neither the United States nor Israel consulted us before the war, and ... Washington explicitly stated at the outset of the war that European assistance was neither necessary nor desired," the spokesperson said.

(48 posts)I am all for criticizing Graham - for numerous reasons, but are you thinking of Lindsey's previous love object John McCain ?
McCain famously said
"it's like that song.
Bomb, bomb, bomb
bomb, bomb, Iran.
heh heh heh"

(168,943 posts)But McCain managed to keep Graham "in check" for a number of wild things. And when he passed away, Graham had no more guardrails, which is why we are here today with this mess.
I was here during the 2008 Obama/McCain primary (and when that video of McCain's "Bomb Bomb" mess happened) and there was lots of discussion about the two of them, and later the post-McCain wild man Graham.

(934 posts)Trump is essentially telling the prime minister, "Nice little country you've got there. It would be a shame if something happened to it if you don't send ships to the Strait of Hormuz" :mafiadon:

Can anyone blame them?
Chump never said a word to any of them BEFORE he bombed Iran and murdered its leader.

(114,560 posts)The mad Mullahs announced months ago tha they'd close the Strait if they were attacked. They also threatened every US base in the region, along with the countries that host/leased them.
Apparently the Pentagon had planned to protect the Strait from the beginning but were overruled by a micromanaging Fatso, who thinks he knows everything and will listen to no one. He reallty thought a few days of heavy bombardment would cause religious fanatics to capitulate. One lesson of the last century is that a massive bombing campaign doesn't work, rather causing a country to rally around even the worst governments. Fatso didn't get the memo, or just ate it if he did.
I sincerely hope he's not lying about stoopping the bombing just short of having to go back to a Congress that is growing increasingly hostile to continue his vicious bungling. It's only during the aftermath that political things have a chance of happening in Iran. they will fall into line behind the IRGC until then.
