18 U.S. Code § 592

x.com/CREWcrew/status/2037266054007734657

18 U.S. Code § 592 states that any officer of the Army or Navy, or any person in the civil, military, or naval service of the United States, who orders, brings, keeps, or has under their control any troops or armed men at a location where a general or special election is held, commits a crime unless such force is necessary to repel armed enemies of the United States. Violators may be fined, imprisoned for up to five years, or both, and are disqualified from holding any office of honor, profit, or trust under the United States.

___Deployment is only lawful if it is necessary to repel armed enemies of the United States. Routine law enforcement or maintaining order is not a valid justification.

...they fully intend to stop this.

Courts have stood down several deployments so far. This isn't even a question for them.

Give an order to disburse and if the goons don't leave, arrest the then senior federal agent present. Repeat until compliance with the law is obtained.

You know the ICE agents will protect their leadership.
What's to stop them from shooting LE dead on the spot.
They know they will be pardoned by Trump.

I don't think LE will go up against Trump's gestapo?

Trump could also order US military in to "protect" polling places.

What a mess.

I wonder if this is how a civil war starts?

...or both?

It's part of the authoritarian playbook, most likely. Just assert the dominance until someone actually stops them.

I was part of Hillary Clinton’s victory Counsel team in Texas. I had reports of some national guard stationed in front of a voting location near San Antonio. I had a contact at the Texas Secretary of State office who promised to get them removed.

Who needs to know the law when you can just make shit up as you go.

It's really dangerous and stupid. Luckily for us, we aren't.

facts. So let's move past that shall we? The main pillars of MAGA are disinformation, misinformation and stone-faced lying.

This is fascism.

In 2024, I was made to walk up to my precinct while masked men carrying AR15 assault rifles told me I had better vote the right way. I have a big mouth and usually don't mind using it but I was so terrified I said not one word. I entered, voted and left. Quietly.

2 years later, I'm hoping we HAVE an election.

We are in hell.
