John Roberts: Wahh! Wahh! You People Don't Understand Us!

Roberts complained at a conference of lawyers in Hershey, Pennsylvania, according to the report.

By Susie Madrak — May 7, 2026
John Roberts is having a little hissy fit over how Americans view the court as "truly political actors." He also added that the court takes great effort to "figure out what the Constitution means," even though he acknowledged that some of the court's decisions are "unpopular.

Roberts made the comments at a conference of lawyers in Hershey, Pennsylvania, according to the report.

“I think at a very basic level, people think we’re making policy decisions, [that] we’re saying we think this is what things should be as opposed to this is what the law provides,” Roberts said. “I think they view us as truly political actors, which I don’t think is an accurate understanding of what we do. I would say that’s the main difficulty.”

The key steps would be:

1. A bill passes the House of Representatives
2. A bill passes the Senate
This means overcoming or eliminating the Senate filibuster unless one party has 60 votes
3. The president signs the bill
4. The president nominates new justices to the added seats
5. The Senate confirms them

With present day voter suppression and the likely voter apathy caused by knowing that your vote does not count the task becomes even harder.

Can we call ourselves a Democracy?

Justices second. As party politics has basically taken over all of our lives... it simply cannot be unseen.

Thats his problem. He is a Republican first, and American second. We all see it.

The Roberts court will go down as the most corrupt biased unAmerican court in our history - They are literally destroying everything that was accomplished in the last century, and honestly my pitbull could interpret the Constitution better than they do. I’m a 60s child and all the freedoms we fought for back then are being destroyed and we are having to start all over again. You know the Greenwood (Trump) anthem God Bless the USA? There is a line in there I think would be better saying “where at least I used to feel free”.
