1) Trump blame vandalism on the Reflection Pool! Of course he did!
2) the Strait of Hormuz is close again! While the more talks in Switzerland are scheduled? Of course it is?

(61,216 posts)Although we have not fought as long, Trump should consider that he set up a 'diplomatic' surrender on Afghanistan in 2020, gradually pulling out troops with a date certain to be completely out in March 2021. Biden's choice was to break the agreement that left us at our weakest point and ramp up the war that we had not "won" fighting 20 years or get blamed for leaving.
Also consider that by the 1970s, it was clear that while we could win every battle, we would never "win" the war because the North Vietnamese had no other choice.
A land war on Iran would make both Afghanistan and Vietnam look easy.
None of these are acceptable from an American perspective, but from Tel Aviv they all look just fine. As has been said, Netanyahu will fight to the last drop of American blood. (And treasure) so Israel will continue with the provocation regardless of what we say or do.

(61,216 posts)It is hard to even speculate how this ends. It is terrible for both Israel and the US, but I agree Israel is for continuing war.

(3,161 posts)but he doesn't respond intelligently. If Netanyahu messes up his reality show production he will become a even bigger enemy the Iran. And Israel is dependent on US military aide. Politicians have not had the balls to stand up to them and say no fearing electoral backlash, but if Trump resets a new normal for dealing with them out of spite they may regret it. And MAGAts will accept it as gospel.
