Trump today on social media when he should be concerned about the debacle he caused in Iran: "The United States Park Police have arrested multiple individuals for vandalizing our Nation's magnificent Reflecting Pool. Who would do such a thing? These are very serious crimes having to do with the destruction of National Monuments. Years in jail! Work will begin immediately on its repair."
In case you haven't been following, this is his way to blame his failure at the Reflecting Pool renovation on "vandals". I don't know. Color me skeptical.

(16,522 posts)probably for souvenirs. So, this gives him a way to validate the vandalism claim. A claim that says the problem hasn't been that the work was done incompetently, but someone(s) have ruined it.
More of his utter nonsense not taking responsibility for anything.

(8,166 posts)it's also his opportunity to once again spend unlimited and unaccounted for taxpayers dollars! Millions to do the damage, even more millions to repair the damage he did.
It's a racket and a pattern...

(46,524 posts)IIRC, someone just picked up a piece of debris, or got near it, or got a photo, and then got arrested.

(5,013 posts)... generally known to be very intelligent creatures. But then, neither is Trump. He just added a new word to his lexicon of insults, and is spewing it at every possible opportunity. Like "Dum" without the "B" that nobody but him even knew was part of the word.
But more to the point, how would anyone, vandal or not, manage to introduce an algae that could spread from even several source points to encompass an area of water that is more than 2,000 feet long, 167 feet wide, roughly 2 feet deep, and contains nearly 7 MILLION GALLONS OF WATER?!!? And cover that vast area in a matter of days? Yeah, I don't believe it, either. And neither should anyone with the common sense of an old gym sock.
Trump is a pathological liar. That's an irrefutable fact. Trump never, ever accepts responsibility for anything. That's an irrefutable fact. He'd carve his own eyes out with a rusty spoon before he'd ever admit he was wrong about anything. That's an irrefutable fact. No vandal, or group of vandals, could fuck up the Reflecting Pool faster than Trump himself already did. That's an irrefutable fact. He has vandalized more government property in a shorter period of time than anyone in living memory. THAT IS AN IRREFUTABLE FACT!
