By Amina Niasse
NEW YORK, June 21 (Reuters) - People caught vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool on Washington's National Mall will be fully prosecuted, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said on Sunday.
President Donald Trump has blamed vandalism for recent problems with the newly renovated pool, including its new blue paint peeling off. Citations for vandalism have been issued, Pirro said on Sunday, adding that even minor crimes must be prosecuted to keep the U.S. capital safe.
The peeling paint was visible in the 2,000-foot-long rectangular pool, a major national landmark, less than two weeks after Trump declared its $14.7 million renovation project completed on June 6. Trump on Saturday claimed, without providing evidence, that vandals poured corrosive chemicals into the pool.
"Anyone who is in a position of vandalizing or attempting to vandalize will face the criminal justice system in D.C.," Pirro told Fox News' "Sunday Briefing" program.

The only one who vandalized it is the idiot you work for.

(676 posts)Shitbag had a delusional dream that there were vandals because he couldnt possibly have picked a dumbass to do a job he wasnt qualified to perform, and the rest of his band of sycophants are falling in line with the BS
.
The coating absorbed the heat which made the algae bloom. First lie was that the algae was in the pipes, and would clear in days. The next thing was they poured hydrogen peroxide into the pool to try and kill the algae. The peroxide caused the coating to lift.
Now dear leader says it was perfectly clear and that there were vandals, so all the little snowflake soldiers fall all over themselves backing up the grand delusion

(4,034 posts)I have some extremely valuable bridge property I'd like to sell you on the cheap.
Anyone who can say that has not being paying attention to real life for quite a long time.
Not to mention the fact that this is a misdemeanor and is highly unlikely to lead to the incarceration you so fervently advocate.
Other than that, I think you're really onto something!

(3,139 posts)point to where I said that, as a quote?
Or maybe you are referring to someone else and got us mixed up? What I did say is that it was an indicator. People do get arrested without evidence, it's a rather rare thing, but it does happen.
Don't put words in my mouth. Instead, read what I actually wrote without making incorrect assumptions.

(4,034 posts)You said: "And generally, people don't get arrested unless there is at least some evidence against them."
It is not putting words in your mouth to restate that proposition as "people don't get arrested without evidence."
Bluster on!

(3,139 posts)you consider spin?
Let's start here, What is incorrect or "spin" in the following statement of fact that I made: "And generally, people don't get arrested unless there is at least some evidence against them."
And this is your baseline for being honest? Removing key parts of what I said to "spin" it the way that fits your needs?

(676 posts)If you havent seen anything to collaborate or validate anything in what I wrote, then we follow different lines of thought. I read, I read many sources and few of them are mainstream media sources.
Over these past weeks I have read about the reflecting pool renovation where the pool was drained to have a protective coating applied and how it was not going well. I red how the algae came back due to heat and the coating. I read and saw the pictures of people pouring hydrogen peroxide into the pool and read the report from a pool guy who pointed out they were not adding anywhere near the amount of peroxide required for the volume of water in the pool. I read how only a day later, the coating began to peal up most likely due to the peroxide. I also read how yesterday they arrested a former Olympian after he reached down to touch the pealing coating. I then read this morning about the shitbags declaration that many people have been arrested, etc, etc
.
I have neither the time nor inclination to trot out sources I read in order to prove I read things that you do not. If I offended you in any way, that was not my intention. I dont believe in groveling or begging for forgiveness, least of all mine. I dont know you, so I dont feel it necessary to prove you one way or the other, take it as you wish.

(10,758 posts)The US attorney's office in DC (Jeaanine Prirro) has been no billed by a grand jury more in the past year than most us attorneys offices have in decades combined. The reason is she keeps charging innocent people. Here's just one eggregious example.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/jeanine-pirro-fails-fourth-time-144837921.html
U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro has once again failed spectacularly, as she has been unable to charge the same D.C. woman in court four different times.
On Thursday, a jury found Sidney Lori Reid not guilty on misdemeanor charges of assaulting an FBI agent. Reid was accused of assaulting FBI agent Eugenia Bates back in July while being detained. Video shows Reid outside D.C. Jail filming Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents who were waiting to arrest two people.
Pirro's office had already tried three separate times before this to federally indict Reid on felony charges, which can carry up to eight years in prison. They alleged that Reid "forcibly pushed" an FBI agent's arm off of her with the intent to injure the agent. That argument failed then, and it failed again on Thursday.
It's clear that Pirro's office is vindictively overcharging in a desperate attempt to make an example out of someone, to have a headline to tout for President Trump. But regardless of how many resources and indictments they throw, it doesn't seem to be working.
I have no idea why somebody who believes people don't get arrested unless there is at least some evidence against them is even on DU since that opinion is completely counter to what the site is all about.

Those are your very words from the conditionally stated post to which you refer.
The poster whose inquiry you are dodging asked what the vandalism at issue was.
IOW: What are these "things like this" to whom you refer.
It's not a question of prejudging guilt or innocence.
It's a question of what heinous deeds you think have been done.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

(4,034 posts)What things are you talking about?
You are, amidst all the volume and bluster, refusing to say what vandalism you believe has been done.
You're quite exercised by it. But you seem not to be able to articulate what it is you think should be righteously punished if, in fact it was done.
Ya see: "Vandalism" is a catchall word. Did someone paint graffiti on the reflecting pool? Did someone tip over the privy of the reflecting pool?
What happened?
You really are not quite as good at this as you seem to think you are.
BTW: What does this mean in standard English: "the topic is alleged vandalism of the grounds reflecting pool."

(3,139 posts)disagree, but me getting attacked for following a logical approach is absurd.
I never thought I'd see people hate so much that they are willing to completely discard nearly all sense of reason over the silliest of things.
Think about this one for a minute: The dominating topic in the political discussion forum is anger over a pool liner.
We have mid-terms coming up, and our current focus is on algae.
