The FBI has opened an investigation into Joe Kent, President Donald Trump’s former counterterrorism chief, who resigned from his post over opposition to the war in Iran, according to multiple news reports.

The bureau’s probe into Kent, who served as director of the National Counterterrorism Center, pertains to allegations that he mishandled classified information, four unnamed sources familiar with the matter told Semafor on Wednesday.

That doesn't prove he was the leaker. This sounds like it could be an internal feud, and it could be true that Kent is being investigated only because he contradicted Trump. That's how Trump rolls, after all. And Budowich is no prize. He was the guy who blocked AP journalists from the Oval Office and AF1, over AP's position on the Gulf of Mexico naming controversy. He was named in Associated Press v. Budowich (2025). Before accusing people of being trolls let's wait for more info, shall we?
