Vietnam moves its dead to make way for Trump golf course, report says

Source: The Independent

Vietnamese farmers are exhuming the graves of their ancestors in order to clear land for a sprawling Trump Organization complex set to include five-star hotels, upscale villas and a golf course, according to a new report.

The $1.5 billion project — seen as key to relations between Hanoi and Washington — broke ground last year in Hung Yen province, but has since sparked backlash from local residents, some of whom have refused to comply with government demands, citing both sentimental and financial concerns.

“The grave of my great-grandparents has been there since 1967, before the establishment of this country,” Hoang Anh Xa, who has five relatives buried in a cemetery set to be dismantled, told The Financial Times. “So why should I move them?”

“It’s a spiritual thing,” Tran Minh Hai, a local farmer, added. “People don’t want to disturb the graves.”

Because Trump/Kushner Corruption, LLC, is building there.

This is the exact same future of Gaza, as well, as Jared has signaled.

I mean it makes sense & it could well be true, but what we have here doesn't prove it when it lacks attribution. Just saying

Regardless of that, however, this is freaking BULLSHIT

This is bs for Vietnam to allow this and i hope the spirits of the dead haunt that gold course so when anyone plays golf there they hit off center, chilly dips, hacker and quintuple bogies. A cursed golf course that unplayable!

I hope it was worth it.

As an Asian-American who grew up in an area with many Vietnamese immigrants, I've seen that older Vietnamese (those who came pre-1990s, by my estimate) tend to be more conservative. Hence "party tradition", similar to certain states voting lockstep D or R from ca. 1860s-1960s due to Civil War allegiances (see the presidential election results in "Union" states like Kansas vs. "Confederate" states like Tennessee). Like Cuban-Americans, Vietnamese have seen Republicans as stronger anti-communists.

In contrast, younger (born '80s or later) Vietnamese-Americans are more down-the-middle depending which part of the country; to my recollection Orange County still has a strong Republican Viet-Am machine (exception: Rep. Derek Tran, a Democrat) while where I'm from (the Bay Area) nearly every Asian-American elected official is Democratic.

I got in Vietnam was in War Zone D. It is now a golf course. The Vietnamese have ways of dealing with the likes of Trump. Maybe Trump thinks getting into a war in Vietnam will last 3 days.
