The White House released a three-page report from President Trumps physician late Friday detailing the results of his physical exam at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center earlier this week. ... Mr. Trumps doctors in the past have released positive health reports that stress the presidents excellent condition and good health habits. Fridays report, written by the presidents physician, Dr. Sean P. Barbabella, gave a similarly upbeat assessment of Mr. Trumps health, declaring that the 79-year-old president remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function.
Mr. Trump, the oldest man to be inaugurated as president, underwent an extensive battery of physical and mental tests, according to the report. The president had an echocardiogram, an ultrasound image of the heart, following increased testing of his cardiovascular system last year and a diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that occurs when veins have trouble moving blood back to the heart. ... Mr. Trump has a history of high cholesterol and takes two medications, Crestor and Zetia, to lower his LDL cholesterol levels. Mr. Trump also takes a high daily dose of aspirin to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes, rejecting medical guidelines and advice from his doctors to switch to a lower amount.
At Walter Reed, Mr. Trump also took a series of neurological tests including the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, or MOCA, a 10-minute exam meant to screen for signs of dementia, Alzheimers disease or other conditions. As in previous years, Mr. Trump scored 30 out of 30 on the exam. ... The report showed that the president had gained 14 pounds since a physical exam in April 2025, weighing 238 pounds near the threshold of clinical obesity. Mr. Trump, who has often mused publicly about friends and staff who take what he calls the fat drug, has said that he has not taken obesity drugs, adding I probably should. ... Dr. Barbabella noted in the report that preventive counseling was provided, including guidance on diet, recommendation to take a low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity, and continued weight loss.
{snip}
For more than a decade, Mr. Trump, his doctors and his aides have frequently issued terse, vague or rosy statements about the presidents fitness and health conditions. Dr. Harold Bornstein, Mr. Trumps longtime personal physician, said in late 2015 that Mr. Trump would be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency. Dr. Ronny L. Jackson, a White House physician for Mr. Trump, said in 2018 that with a better diet, Mr. Trump could have lived to be 200 years old.

(14,002 posts)I'm not one to fat-shame either. My partner was heavy. Weighed close to 250, was 5'10" and didn't have anywhere near the girth of the felon.
Taller and much, much fatter, I would put the felon at over 300 for sure, but will concede it's possible he's less than that -- but not by much!!!
I frankly don't give a crap if he lies about his own weight. By lying on an official report on the president by a physician? That is intolerable. And if he lies about something that is so obvious, he's lying about all of it.

Examination was normal, except for scarring of the right ear consistent with prior gunshot injury.
Examination of the dorsal hands revealed ecchymosis (bruising), consistent with minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking

Funny that the doctor felt compelled to add that remark when no abnormal visible scarring is detectable on any photos after the bandage was removed. Doctor doesn't mention the abnormal bruising on both hands blamed on his excessively high and dangerous dosage of aspirin that no reputable medical experts would ever recommend.

There is no way that he can be in excellent health. No one with swollen ankles and bruised hands can be in excellent health. Even if they had said good health, it would be a stretch.

(61,150 posts)this in addition to saying he got.diet advice and was told to increase exercise. Even the LOW aspirin advice was because he takes a HIGH dose against medical advice. Even as written, this is not a positive report card. The weight gain even by this report puts him at the threshold of clinical obesity which of course means he is pretty overweight.
Also, playing with the CDC's BMI calculator, to be 238 pounds and on the verge of obesity, he needs to be 6 foot 3 inches. Even if he ever was, he isn't now given many pictures of him standing next to people whose heights are known.

The three biggest problems with the results of Trumpâs latest medical exam (released Friday night, as part of an apparent attempt to bury the news):

President Donald Trumps physician declared him in excellent health, but recommended the president lose weight and exercise more following his latest physical exam.
Cognitive and physical performance are excellent, Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella wrote in his report released on Friday. He is fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.
At first blush, that might seem like a routine summary, but a closer look suggests three lingering problems with the developments.
What was in the report: The three-page report released by the White House included plenty of anodyne details, but it also added some curious elements. Barbabella, for example, stated that Trump has a cardiac age of a 65-year-old, based on the results of an AI-enhanced electrocardiogram analysis. It also pointed to frequent handshaking to explain the bruising that often appears on the presidents left and right hands.
Dr. Vin Gupta, a medical analyst for MS NOW, noted online, When a Presidents physicians start citing AI cardiac age metrics and explaining bilateral bruising from frequent handshaking, the line between medical documentation and political messaging disappears.
Whats more, the same report from the White House noted that Trump also took another cognitive exam, the fourth of his presidency.....
What was not in the report: That the documentation released by the White House spanned three pages might give the impression of comprehensiveness, but thats not quite right. The Wall Street Journal reported, for example, The White House memorandum describing President Trumps recent physical examination lacks details of the results of tests to assess his cardiovascular health, according to physicians who read the report. That is one of several areas of the report that doctors said stood out for its lack of specificity......
The lengthy pattern: The problem started before Trump even took office. In late 2015, during the race for the Republican presidential nomination, Team Trump released an unintentionally hilarious four-paragraph letter from the late Dr. Harold Bornstein, asserting that Trumps physical strength and stamina are extraordinary and that his lab tests results were astonishingly excellent. The doctor added at the time, If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.
We learned several months later that Bornstein wrote the letter in five minutes while a limo, dispatched by Trump, waited for the document.....
The president and his team, in other words, have had multiple opportunities to earn the benefit of the doubt about his personal health and medical history. They keep failing.
