US judge orders Trump administration to explain tarp obscuring Kennedy Center facade

WASHINGTON, June 24 (Reuters) - A federal judge on Wednesday ordered U.S. President Donald Trump's administration to ‌explain why it placed a tarp over the Kennedy ‌Center's façade after the Republican leader's name was removed from the building under ​a court order.

U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper said the administration must report by July 31 "the purpose and status of the tarp and scaffolding" now in place at the iconic building.

The tarp was ‌installed as workers stripped ⁠Trump's name in a predawn operation this month following an order from Cooper that the Trump administration ⁠unlawfully added his name to the facade in December.

The White House and Kennedy Center did not immediately respond to requests for ​comment.

It’s due to the time the defendant and the plaintiff have to file their responses and/or rebuttals to the opposing side’s arguments. I believe the response times are mandated by federal court rules, possibly laws. Keep in mind that IANAL, just regurgitating what I recall from an article on the length of time courts take to get shit done.

That's insane. There is no legitimate reason for it and the Judge knows it. The Judge should have ordered it removed immediately becuse it is covering up the real name of the Center.

But those days of youthful defiance are behind me. My thoughts and prayers are that someone will keep that spirit alive.

I know the power of branding, film, and positioning. So a film crew would accompany me to share images with everyone else who feels powerless to alter the course of events.
