New Mexico Epstein investigation targets records from South Carolina, 2 other states
(snip)
New Mexico's "Truth Commission" on Epstein wants to know why U.S. Attorneys Offices in South Carolina, Florida, Michigan and the U.S. Virgin Islands chose not to press charges against him after investigations.

Front and center were a womans claims to FBI agents that Epstein sexually abused her when she was a teen living on Hilton Head Island. She later told federal investigators that Donald Trump assaulted her long before he became president, sometime around 1984 in the Northeast.

FBI agents from Washington State, where the woman lived at the time, interviewed her four times about her allegations. The FBI investigation appears to have ended abruptly in late 2019, but there is no record in the public files about that decision.
Post and Courier reporters dug extensively through public documents and historical material and found records that corroborated elements of what the accuser told FBI agents about her life. The allegations against Trump remain unproven and none of the corroborating records related directly to her claims about him. The White House press secretary has insisted there was zero credible evidence behind the claims.
