Carlson is reshaping the Republican Party -- not leaving it

Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene would like you to believe they are leaving the Republican Party. Spare me. They are not leaving the party. They are waiting Donald Trump out.

They are not walking away from the GOP because they have developed principles, shame, moral clarity or a sudden allergy to authoritarian politics. They are simply biding their time until Trump is term-limited, politically weaker, or dead, so they can finish the job they started years ago: hijacking the Republican Party and turning it into an even uglier, more conspiratorial, more openly antisemitic, more isolationist, more grievance-drunk version of MAGA.

Carlson told the “Can’t Be Censored” podcast this week that there is “no chance” he will support the Republican Party in the 2026 midterms. He added that he had voted Republican his entire life and had defended the party for thirty-five years, but now he was “out,” because Republicans were supposedly making decisions based on what was best for donors, companies and Israel rather than American citizens. He also called the party’s behavior “treasonous” and “immoral” — which he notably did not do when he was excusing the treasonous and immoral behavior of the January 6 insurrectionists.

Once you join in and support the MAGA agenda, and Trump, you can't get trust back. That's a fall that you should never take. It is a demonstration of lack of judgment, and open stupidity and ignorance that can't be taken back. I say the same thing about Olivia Troye.
