somewhere close to the Christmas tree, and put all the non-breakable ornaments near the bottom, so the cat can bat them around. That seems to work here. My kitty hates and fears the vacuum cleaner. If he does manage to sneak up to the tree, the non-breakable ornaments are fair game.
