Thousands and thousands of honkers just flew over my house.

The temperature is in the teens and they were flying north. They woke me up.

What do they know that I don't know and the weatherman doesn't know?

Jays were feeding here frantically 3 days before the last storm. They knew it was coming. Just like their brains hone in on magnetic polar gravitation for direction, they somehow sense storms in advance. Maybe it's vibration, temperature, humidity.

Took close to 10 minutes for them to clear the sky over the yard.
Weird thing is, they were flying east to west.
Maybe headed for the cooling lakes near the nuclear plant? Those would be much warmer than the surrounding air.
