I told my daughter that despite any disagreements I might have gone through, I wouldn't trade being her Dad for any other fate in the universe. Honest truth.

Thanks!

I value many things we as a species do not. When you we use science and technology barely grasping how science should work you get this. Sorry Usonian - I just remembered you work in the technology industry. I didn’t mean you obviously and you are clearly pulling well beyond your weight and obligations. It is just the many humans who have been frustratingly derelict and their showing up to curate their reputations would not help. Ideally they are still asleep:

Scientists say more than 50 billion years of cumulative evolutionary history could be lost as humans push wildlife to the brink.
"Weird and wonderful" animals unlike anything else on Earth are sliding silently toward extinction, they say.
And regions home to the greatest amounts of unique biodiversity are facing unprecedented human pressures.
They include the Caribbean, Western Ghats of India and large parts of Southeast Asia.
The study, published in Nature Communications, highlights priority species for conservation, based on their evolutionary distinctiveness.
"These species are weird and wonderful and there is nothing like them on Earth," said Rikki Gumbs of ZSL's EDGE of Existence programme and Imperial College London.
He said the analysis reveals "the incomprehensible scale of the losses we face if we don't work harder to save global biodiversity".

Chris Ketcham does wonderful work as does Yasha Levine. Ketcham directly confronts it and it is clear where this improvident a species is headed.
The rest of us have to evolve faster to keep up with stupidity bolstered by machines.

It is such a lie:

ndangered frog finds no friends at Supreme Court - USA TODAY
27 Nov 2018WASHINGTON - The endangered dusky gopher frog lost a round at the Supreme Court Tuesday, but its fate is not yet final. In a unanimous 8-0 opinion by

Fittingly I cannot access that. It is never just about the Gopher frog. If Martin Niemollar’s poem had been extended to seriously reevaluating our relationship with earth we would not be here.
This improvident a species would break every universe it finds and blame the wrong things and people while assiduously promoting the same dynamic.
Adam Becker gets it. I was so pleased to see someone respectable, not just us environmentalists refer to the limits to growth (I have two identities-as a scientist and as an environmentalist and a third one as a humanist that is a work in progress and mainly exists because of my colleagues, you guys here on DU and people like Yasha Levine and Chris Ketcham. I promote the work of the few people I trust any chance I get..Google would consider me an adbot for the left! ):
