(132,082 posts)I don't cook that much. It called for 12 lemons I thought. Actually it was 1 - 2 lemons. Obviously it was inedible. LOL!

(41,891 posts)She didn't know what a 'clove' was. She thought that referred to the whole bulb .... so .... at least 12 heads of garlic.
Guests said it was "a bit strong", or something polite like that.

(132,082 posts)It was then a mad rush to get dad dinner from the kitchen of his nursing home. We used to cook on Sundays and bring food over to my Dad's room. We had a card table and chairs. Did it for 7 years. I usually cooked something I knew. Not that night.

(7,021 posts)The best was my plastic wrapped bread straight from the oven. I had covered the shaped loaf with clingwrap while the oven heated. Right into the oven without removing it.

(19,422 posts)I tried to use thick, heavy buttermilk instead of milk or water. It was still gooey by dinnertime. I ended up cooking it for double the time to make it edible.
I've actually made great cornbread by grinding up popcorn kernels to use as the cornmeal.
