...sync music being the music "synchronized" to whatever is occurring on-screen at the moment. Typically, the music replaces most or all of the dialogue while it is playing, so it helps if it is particularly striking in its sound, composition, etc. "Red Right Hand" was used to great effect in the X-Files episode "Ascension"; it is essentially the "Duane Barry theme" (a primary character in the episode).
