REPORT: THE SEARCH FOR SURVIVORS IN VENEZUELA
It's a race against time in Venezuela, where rescue teams are frantically searching for survivors after two back-to-back earthquakes, among the most severe ever recorded in the area. At least 164 are dead, according to Acting President Delcy Rodriguez, and the number is expected to rise as crews reach hard-hit areas and the full scale of the devastation becomes clear. The heaviest damage appears to be centered in and around Caracas, the capital, where people have been heard calling for help. Mary Triny Mena reports.

John Kerry
Former Secretary of State
The clock is ticking on negotiations between the U.S. and Iran. As if there weren't already a number of sticking points, at the moment the two sides can't seem to agree on what they've agreed on. The Trump administration is describing its preferred outcomes as concrete deals, while Tehran promptly disputes these claims. Former Secretary of State John Kerry, a key negotiator of the JCPOA, joins the show to discuss the dynamic.

Outgoing British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's ban on children's access to social media will be one of his final major policies — perhaps the one that will define his legacy. But it may not be the best solution. A similar ban in Australia is proving to have little effect, with research showing that over 80% of children have found ways around the restrictions. Experts are now saying the real focus should be on holding tech giants to account. One such expert is Baroness Beeban Kidron, who made her name as a filmmaker before turning her attention to a different calling: children's online rights. It's a journey Kidron chronicled in her new book "Users." The author joins the show from London.

The 4th of July will mark 250 years since the signing of America's Declaration of Independence. Celebrations led by President Trump are already in the works — like the Great American State Fair, which aims to showcase the best of the nation. What you might not know is that the two organizations tasked with planning the festivities are locked in a tense dispute. The Atlantic's Michael Scherer has been closely monitoring the conflict. To discuss what he calls "America's ugly birthday battle," Scherer joins Michel Martin.
