Special election nears for Grand Blanc's $149M school bond proposal

GRAND BLANC, Mich. (WJRT) - Special elections in Michigan are less than a month away and several school districts, including Grand Blanc Community Schools, are fronting proposals.

ABC12's Morgan Kirsch spoke with Grand Blanc Community Schools officials and parents about what's on the docket.

The century-old Perry Center is one of many buildings that could potentially change with this $149 million bond proposal.

Grand Blanc Community Schools Superintendent Trevor Alward says the bond has four focuses. Among them: expanding the Perry Center to allow more students into early childhood education programs, creating a new performing arts center, upgrading security and infrastructure, and maintaining the school's technology resources.
