Don't panic: Routine voter roll maintenance makes NV elections 'safe and secure'

There are many things to worry about in life. State election officials performing voter roll maintenance ahead of the 2026 midterm elections is not one of them.

More than 138,000 registered voters were listed as inactive and about 177,000 voter registrations were canceled as part of routine voter roll maintenance from Jan. 1, 2025 to Jan. 7, 2025., according to Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar.

As of Feb. 1 there were more than 2.1 million active registered voters in Nevada.

“Nevada’s elections are safe and secure thanks to the systems and processes we have in place. This includes our regular list maintenance efforts which are led by trusted county election officials,” Aguilar said in a statement explaining the maintenance efforts.
