PA HD-12 special election set for Aug 18th
HD-12 is Darryl Metcalf's old house district. It's pretty red and includes Cranberry, Mars and Zelienople. The current R rep resigned last month. Voters get three cracks at it. There is a primary in May, a special election in mid-Aug and then the general election in Nov when the seat will be filled for a full two year term.
Surprisingly, there is a Dem candidate running unopposed in the May primary and two Rs battling it out to run in the special election, then, presumably, the winner will also run in Nov.
I'd be shocked if this seat flipped, but it will be interesting to see the final margin for the winner.
