More than 48,000 ballots already cast in WV as early voting is slated end at 5 p.m. on Saturday

Those wanting to early vote in West Virginia this primary election have until 5 p.m. on Saturday to get out to their polling places.

Polling places in all 55 counties will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Anyone in line by 5 p.m. that day will be permitted to vote, according to the Secretary of State.

Once the deadline passes, residents seeking to vote in the election — where candidates for federal offices, the state Legislature and the Supreme Court of Appeals, among other positions, will appear on the ballot — will have to do so on Election Day, which is Tuesday, May 12.

More than 48,200 ballots have already been cast in the primary election as of Thursday evening, according to the Secretary of State.
