Friday's Horses -- Laurie's Obstacle Course

We had an obstacle/trail course at the old farm.
Many riders visited the course during its ten year existence.
This guest's horse was named Reggie.

Laurie and friends built the course over time. One of the instructors coached a rider over three big tractor tires.

These are two of the volunteers, who used their skills to build a
short bridge.

Riders crossing the bridge.

Laurie erected a tipi on the course.

Besides individuals who rode the course, groups used to come for weekend clinics.
They'd gather first thing in the morning and discuss the day's plans for learning.

Then progress through the course, instructors teaching, riders and horses practicing.

Riders warmed up their horses (and themselves) before heading out to the course.

A small group of friends investing part of a weekend day practicing obstacles on their own.

These folks were taking part in a clinic.

This long bridge was another obstacle.

Laurie built a suspension bridge on the course.

The Grand Staircase obstacle.

The course had a jumping log.

Laurie and Maddie up and over.

A horsemanship clinician named JoLinn conducted clinics for us.

She was an expressive instructor.

We'll finish this obstacle course post next week.
Thanks for visiting.
