formed by those hands and made in this image
these lips blew life in sod a breath of trepidation
the culmination of plans from an unseen visage
give us the color of god to prove us each unique
privileged kings and priests to worship or praise
as the common men plod in wonder and to seek
the scraps fallen from feasts of a sacrificial blaze
is this the color of god his thick dry spit wet lips
sinew and blue veined hands covered in callous
the calculated stern eye from which no tear slips
muscles of iron bands which lift the silver chalice
show us the color of god so that all might believe
is nothing behind the facade the humans conceive
