Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump blocking the DHS deal and then fumbling his own response.

Republicans continued their path of blocking funding for DHS while telling the most gullible people in America that it's the Democrats. Republican Senate Majority Leader Thune pitched Trump on the idea that they could fund all of DHS except immigration and get the airlines rolling again. This comes after the Republican party in the Senate rejected unanimous consent for a similar plan recently.

Trump said, "I don't think we should make any deal with the crazy country destroying radical left Democrats unless and until they vote with Republicans to pass the SAVE America Act."

And from there, he rambled on. He demanded laws that already exist, like citizenship voting, babbling about trans people playing sports, and so on. He closed by saying, "Thune, clearly identify those few Republicans that are voting against America. They will never be elected again. In other words, lump everything together as one and vote. Kill the filibuster and stay in DC for Easter if necessary.”

That's right, folks. Trump has tied critical national security funding not just to a demand to not reform immigration services, but also to his very important and big feelings about trans people playing sports.

Trump started a war with what he called the largest supporter of terrorism in the world and is now freezing funding for airport security because trans people can play sports.

He's blocking FEMA funding. He's leaving America weaker and vulnerable because sports are more important to him than the economy or your safety.

Then Trump decided to put ICE in airports. They're not actually doing TSA's job. They're just present. So the TSA agents get to work for free beside people Trump is paying to stand around. I'm sure that's great for morale at an agency already seeing people quit in droves.

The rumor mill says Democrats on Capitol Hill are laughing at the tactics Trump thinks are super tough and how he thinks it'll make Democrats cave. To break this down from the Democratic lawmaker point of view, Trump in an effort to avoid reforms, including body cams and the like, has deployed ICE to places where they're constantly on camera and surrounded by witnesses. In essence, giving the Democrats everything they wanted.

So while Trump's war has caused State Department to send out bulletins warning Americans worldwide, especially in the Middle East, to exercise increased caution. He's blocking the very funding needed for airport security because he doesn't want to work on anything until the all-important trans people playing sports issue is resolved. I for one feel safer.
