3. Vance is such a sleaze

It's so obvious he knows he is lying. The word "disingenuous" comes to mind. George S sees it and is disgusted by it. Nevertheless, he spells the answer out for Vance who, in trump-like style, tries to change the subject to how horrible they are as a news outlet.

trump was complaining about this exchange indignantly. George S dismissed Vance summarily and that alone was a joy to see. It was like, "You're not worth my time. Goodbye."
