YW. Mamdani comes from a highly successful family. His mother is Mira Nair, a great filmmaker; I exposed my film students to bollywood movies with her film, Monsoon Wedding.

And Mamdani's right. New York needs to be a place for workers as much as richies. His campaign platform includes support for
fare-free city buses;
public child care;
city-owned grocery stores;
a rent freeze on rent-stabilized units;
additional affordable housing units;
comprehensive public safety reform; and a
$30 minimum wage by 2030.
He also supports tax increases on corporations and those earning above $1 million annually.
NYC is the richest city in a wealthy country; it should be as livable as anywhere else.
New Yorkers aren't stupid. If Bernie endorses him, he'll be a good mayor, even if the rich want things run their way.
