1975 -- I graduated from high school and was enrolled in college.

Nixon was gone. Ford shouldn't have pardoned him, but we moved on. Ford was competent enough and was boring to the point where his wife, Betty, got more press than he did.

Little and big things were affordable. A can of Coke was 25 cents. Gas was 40 cents a gallon. Rents in NYC were $400.

People were nicer to each other.

Music was great.

Until Reagan showed up, these were halcyon years, truly golden.
